There’s a lot of conversation about being ‘you’… Brand Building in this web obsessed world.
“The idea of ‘being yourself’ appears to have become a strategy, rather than a journey. Who are you?. Even big names, the one’s you would think have already ‘made it’ are performing, perhaps it always was a part of the show. So where is the space for discovering who you actually are rather than who you think you should be.
I know all about this game. Its relentless. There’s so much energy in constantly sharing ourselves, our thoughts, our hearts for people to engage with…. or not.
It would seem this ‘all consuming void’ within the deep chasms of an invisible construct, is devouring our creativity and for such a small return to the creator.
This online world of opportunity is racking up a billion accounts on every platform. Accounts filled with a plethora of creative stock, endlessly streaming golden threads of life, inspiration and ideas into the vastness of the ether. Sadly for the most part, never to be seen or heard of again.
I have thought a lot lately, about all of this, about real life and what is the purpose in it all. Perhaps its less about being seen and more about opening our hearts and minds. Perhaps it’s about the sensory experience. Maybe it’s simply opening our eyes and really seeing what’s around us, in the here and now.
Taking the time to stop and notice what is unfolding beneath the noise, the quiet moments happening in unseen places. Mushrooms growing overnight, strangers sharing stories and laughter. flowers, babies, the still cool morning air.
Is coming alive about learning something new? I wonder about this because the truest revelations often form slowly, away from performance, applause, or commentary in a place of contemplation and bliss. A place where I don’t have all the answers and that’s OK.
Is there a point at which its good if we just stop talking?
My experience is that some of the most meaningful moments arrive when no one is watching, when the cameras are off, when attention turns inward, and our hearts come alive.
When presence replaces the need to be witnessed, seen or known.
Perhaps life isn’t asking us to be remarkable somewhere out there, but to be awaken enough to recognize that we already are, right here.
